The Blackstone Valley Business Center is please to sponsor the following classes in April and May.

Introduction to Marketing and Communications

An introductory seminar in marketing communications for small to medium-sized businesses. Topics include company and product positioning, how to use your website as a primary communications tool, and taking advantage of opportunities for PR and publicity. It will also cover advertising, sales materials, email marketing campaigns, and how these can all work together. Two sessions: Tuesday evening, May 15 from 7-9 and Saturday morning, May 19th from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

Create Your Own Photographic Website

This 5-week course is scheduled to take place on Thursday evenings, April 26, May 3, 10, 17, and 24th. Class is limited to 5 students.

So, you're a photographer or photography enthusiast? You'd love to have a nice website and learn some basics, but don't want to pay a designer to create a website. This class will give you the knowledge to build your own basic website, upload images when you want to, change it on the fly, and evolve it into your own unique site which will reflect good web standards and your good taste.

Maximize your Website

How can you get more visitors to your website? What can you do to stimulate traffic? Learn how you can make simple changes to your website to improve its ranking on Google, Yahoo and other search engines. Get your website listed higher on that search results list so people will find your business! This is a beginner course - no programming experience is necessary. Topics include: Making Webpages Search Engine Friendly, Helping search engines index each page of your site, increasing your webisite's google ranking and 12 strategies you can implement to improve your websites overall performance. This is a 3 hour class held over two nights, Tuesday May 1st and the 8th from 7-8:30 PM.

Introduction to Small Business Management

May 7 & 14, 5:30-7:00 PM 1. The basics of opening a small business, from business registration, state & federal regulations, tax issues, marketing & promotion.
2. Introduction to small business management.
Right from the textbook; learn to Plan, Organize, Direct & Control your business for maximum efficiency. Whether you're just starting a business or you are self-employed looking to take your business to the next level, this overview will help you organize your ideas, set achievable goals and give you a tracking system to monitor your plan's effectiveness.

These classes are offered as a service to the community in keeping with the core mission of the Business Center, which is "Helping small business accomplish more with less!"
